So the ride cross country from Louisiana to New York was nothing short of eventful... The whole experience was less than friendly for the most part and dealing with Budget truck rental was an awful and exhausting experience. They first promised us a moving van and car carrier (trailer) when we made our reservation and when we arrived the car carrier was not available? So we asked why allow the reservation if the equipment isn’t available? No reasonable response of course, so we call around and the only one available is in Mississippi! So my Dad and I go there and the gentleman working the counter didn’t know how to fill the paperwork out so it cost us an additional 2 hours of time waiting for him to figure this out...Once we get it together we finally hit the road and realize once night falls that the truck has only one functioning headlight 🤦🏽♂️.so, we cut the first day of driving short and spend the night in Cleveland, Tennessee (yes it’s a real place). The next day the adventure commenced with us unable to back this behemoth out of a tight parking lot and when we finally did it cost a half an hour. We get on the ride and roll nonstop till we hit our destination in NY at around 9:30 pm.
Not that I wanna complain about some of the miserable experiences, I’d rather say that it was one of the best trips ever! I got to spend 2 days with my Dad going across country and the both of us got see and experience things we never thought of. We talked and laughed the entire way and he surly is the best passenger I could’ve asked for in this journey. We’ve had our struggles like most families but we made strides to overcome them. I loved every second of that ride and hope it’s not our last!
